The Parent Regulation Questionnaire

Notice patterns in your child’s movement, sensory needs, routines, and emotional regulation, then receive a practical starting point for home support.

Educational support only. This questionnaire is for parent reflection and practical home support, and does not replace qualified professional guidance.

Notice the signals

Does your child do any of these?

Melt down during transitions?
Seek constant movement, climbing, crashing, or rough play?
Cover their ears or avoid certain textures?
Struggle to calm down once upset?
Resist bedtime, mealtimes, bathing, or leaving the house?
Seem clumsy, cautious, tense, floppy, or unaware of their body?

These behaviors are not signs that you are failing as a parent. They may be signals. This questionnaire helps you slow down, notice patterns, and choose a practical next step.

Answer what best matches your recent observations.

Step 1 of 5 Movement Seeking

Section 1

Movement Seeking

Think about how often movement, impact, resistance, or active play seems connected to your child’s focus and daily rhythm.

1. Does your child seem constantly “on the go”?
2. Does your child crash, climb, jump, push, pull, or seek rough play?
3. Does your child calm down after running, climbing, jumping, or carrying heavy things?
4. Does your child struggle to sit still during meals, homework, or quiet activities?
5. Does your child seem to need movement before they can focus or listen?
